Taking a cue from John Lennon, Paul McCartney and The White Stripes among others, Milkshake is much more than just a band for kids. They are an energetic departure from traditional kid’s music and have transitioned from an adult audience to a younger crowd without compromising their stage presence, musical integrity or rock and roll spirit. Milkshake will have families air guitaring, air drumming and singing on the top of their lungs all while learning about rock and roll.

The GRAMMY Museum presents: WHAT IS ZYDECO? FEATURING LISA HALEY AND THE ZYDEKATS

Saturday, October 3, 2009; 10:00am

A mix of French, Irish Celtic, blues and jazz, Lisa Haley and the Zydekats will bring the songs of the Bayou to life on the GRAMMY Museum Sound Stage. Featuring a well-known cast of musicians as well as “Louie”, Lisa’s beloved blue violin, the Zydekats are ready to teach families all about their swamp sound and historic genre. Doors open at 9:30am.

Program admission is $8. Programs are FREE with paid Museum admission or to Museum members (Opening Act level or higher.) Reservations are required. Call 213.765.6800 ext. 6 or email family@grammymuseum.org to reserve.
